Art Club After School
Exploration, play, and reflection fuel imagination and lead us closer to understanding and meaning.
During Art Club After School, we immerse in a collective and energetic exploration of color, movement, and space. Through spontaneous drawing, improvisation, and brainstorming, we adventure into the creative process behind art & design projects. During this time and space we let our shared values—like respect, kindness, rigor—to mix and simmer in a melting pot fueled by our imagination.

Peeking through a hole can sometimes lead to the beginning of an art adventure, especially at MangoStreet.
The missing round piece of our project, inspired by The Book With a Hole by Hervé Tullet, was an invitation to familiarize the children with the language of art, play with bi-dimensional space, and embark on the collective experience of building and illustrating a book. The children explored the concept of positive and negative space by drawing both within circles and around circular cut-outs. The hole in our book became the main focus and starting point of their illustrations. What story is the missing round shape telling you throughout the pages of this book?
